Steve Brosky & Jimmy Meyer will make a special guest appearance at Springfest.
Hey now let’s get down let’s all go to Allentown, rumor has it Steve, Jimmy, and Alex are working on a polka version of “Do The Dutch”.
Jimmy also mentioned he’s bringing the banjo!
Members of The Happy Boombadeers of Allentown will put on a special guest performance during one of Alex’s breaks to show us this unique, and mostly forgotten about, Pennsylvania Dutch instrument. In addition, bring your own boombas and “make a racket”, as they say, along with local boomba player, Walt Bauman, who will occasionally join in while Alex and the band are on stage.
Prepare to head to the “Pennsylvania Hills”, John Stevens will also make a special guest appearance with Alex and the band at Springfest; this might be a preview of Pennsylvania Music Preservation Society’s second Polka show scheduled for November 8th at AG hall on The Allentown Fairgrounds.
William Allen High School Studio Dance Academy will be performing a few selections at Springfest to show off some of the artistic talent the Allentown School District has to offer.
Don’t forget to see their performance of “Staying Power” tonight & tomorrow at 7:00PM in the WAHS auditorium.
Students of the dance academy have Springfest advance sale tickets available for purchase, a portion of which benefits the dance academy.
This is a great way to get your Springfest tickets & help out one of the artistic youth organizations in the area.
Walt Groller will be stopping by Springfest for a once in a lifetime sit-in with Alex Meixner.
He plans on playing a few traditional style songs with Alex & the band.
